Scooter Rental – English Service
Welcome to OkinawaNorth.com! We’re Richard and Hikari, offering scooter rentals right here in sunny Onna Village, Okinawa’s main resort area.
When we first came to Okinawa, we fell in love with its beaches and quiet spots, but soon discovered that buses are limiting and cars can’t reach many hidden places. That’s why we started our scooter rental service – a simple, flexible way for visitors to see more.
Our scooters let you enjoy coastal roads, local restaurants, and peaceful escapes at your own pace. Helmets and insurance are included, and with clear, friendly English support, booking is always stress-free.
Book today and discover northern Okinawa the easy and enjoyable way – on a scooter.
Looking for a place to stay? Our cozy log cabin offers the perfect retreat.
Ready to explore Okinawa’s underwater world? We also rent out high-quality snorkel gear!

International Driving Permits & License Translations
If you have a foreign driving license, you will need an additional document: either an International Driving Permit (IDP) based on the 1949 convention or a License Translation. This should be carried together with your original license and passport.
The specific document required depends on the country where your original license was issued. These documents are generally easy and affordable to obtain.
International Driving Permit
If your country is a member of the 1949 Geneva Convention, you need a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) based on the 1949 convention, in the form of a physical booklet issued by your home country’s licensing authority.
Click here to view the qualifying countries of the 1949 Geneva Convention
However, some countries, such as Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Monaco, and Taiwan, do not issue this type of IDP. In these cases, you will need to apply for an official translation of your driver’s license.
Licence Translation
For Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Monaco and Taiwan, an official Japanese translation of your driving license is required to ride a scooter in Japan. Once in Japan, your translation can be applied for online and collected via a printing service at convenience stores.
Digital IDPs or license translations, such as mobile apps, PDF scans, or digital wallets, are not valid for driving in Japan.
